Do Something Now| CLC partners with Samaritan's Feet!

Jan. 29 - Feb. 12, 2012

Each year, CLC sends a team of middle school students to our nation's capitol to serve the City and serve those that are being Jesus in Washington D.C. every day. This year, the Team will be serving Samaritan's Feet through praying with, washing feet, and putting shoes on children.

Samaritan's Feet is not just a non-profit, nor just a humanitarian aid organization – but a community of more than 70,000 volunteers who have joined together to make a difference in the lives of children in need in every corner of the world. From a dream to the reality of nearly 3,000,000 impoverished children in over 40 nations being served by having their feet washed, receiving a new pair of shoes, and hearing a message of hope.

This is an opportunity for not just the middle school team but for us, as a Church to partner with Samaritan's Feet.

A Few Details...

How? We will be collecting NEW shoes from January 29th through February 12th.

Where do I drop them off? There will be a shoe-drop in the glass foyer by the Front-Entrance.

What do the shoes have to be like? We take tennis shoes, sneakers, and gym shoes. They have to be new, never worn. We do ask primarily for children's shoes but we all know that some kids wear adult size shoes. We are also taking new socks as we give out socks with each pair of shoes.

The reason we only take new shoes is because our shoes can end up anywhere in the world. Places where bacteria treatable in the United States can result in amputation or death in under-developed countries.
